How we repair your PlayStation 2
- We test the PS2 with DVD and CD-based games to see which discs it reads and how the laser behaves.

PlayStation 2 repair questions
My PS2 reads DVDs but not some games. What is wrong?
Some PS2s read DVD-based games but not CD-based games (the blue-bottomed discs), or the other way round. This usually means the laser is worn, and a replacement laser normally fixes it.
Are PS2 parts still available?
